Dirty Dames hit the trail…

Hey everyone, a quick guest post coming in from one of our Ladies group ride leaders SueMay! They just had their third Ladies only ride and it was a big success! Keep the votes coming for the first ever club jersey by the way! Its currently a two horse race, but that could change!

Dirty dames; but not what you’re thinking….

The third SORBA women’s group ride turned out to be a great evening. An awesome group of women from different backgrounds sharing the same interest for mountain biking.  New and experienced riders hit the trails of Blue Clay Bike Park to learn, encourage, teach, sweat and laugh. And no near misses with squirrels, turtles, deer, snakes or giant spiders either.

We are all hoping for just as great a turnout next ride.

Post ride photo op!

That next ride by the way is Tuesday, August 2nd at 6pm! Come join these lovely ladies and get dirty!!

Poll: Choose the Look of the first EVER Cape Fear SORBA Jersey!

So for those of you who have been monitoring the Cape Fear SORBA Facebook page you may have noticed I put up a post that said we are working on the first ever club jerseys and a vote would be coming very soon to help us determine what they would look like. First of all for those of you who haven’t “liked” us on Facebook yet, shame on you. Go do that. You back? Ok good. Now then, it is time to reveal to the world the 4 choices for our first ever club jersey!!

Option 1: Blue/ Black

Option 1: Blue/ Black

Option 2: Blue/ Gray

Option 2: Blue/ Gray

Option 3: Red/ Black

Option 3: Red/ Black

Option 4: Red/ Gray

Option 4: Red/ Gray

Here is how this will work. We will post up the pics inside a poll below. All you have to do is pick the one you like best and vote for it!  We will let everyone vote for 1 week and once that week is up the winner will be chosen (though in case the vote is very close the final two will be voted on again eliminating the 2 with the least votes). The color variation with the most votes will be the version that we send off to Hincapie to eventually get made. A couple things to note: no we do not know how much they will cost yet, it depends on how many are ordered. Also, while the versions we have made up are nice the final version after Hincapie gets done with our mockup may not be exactly the same. Thats just part of how this process goes.

So Cape Fear SORBA, what is going to be fashionable this fall in the Port City?? One of these spiffy new jerseys! Choose wisely!

POLL HAS EXPIRED. THANKS FOR VOTING

Summer Time Trial Series Wrap Up!

Good morning everyone, I want to start out by thanking all of the participants in the Summer Time Trial Series. Overall, we raised $205 for the club, gave out $60 in lottery winnings – thank you so much to those that donated your winnings back to the club. Last night was our 5th and final night of the time trial series, we had 10 riders to participate, and we also have a new member to Cape Fear SORBA – Mike Ross, Welcome aboard Mike!

Overall the time trial series was very successful, we met our goal of the money we hoped to raise, got a few new members, but most of all we had a lot of fun. Before I get to the times, I’d like to thank Greg for helping setup and break down every night, Austin for helping me keep information posted, and all of you that came out and took part.

Ok… now for the times…
